Nova Post has opened a new logistics terminal in Moldova
The company’s largest logistics hub in Moldova, with a throughput capacity of up to 10,000 packages per hour and an area of 3,800 m², has begun operations near Chisinau. The terminal brings together all key processes in one location—from sorting shipments to customs clearance.
The new terminal operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and handles a full range of logistics operations: centralized parcel sorting, customs clearance, sorting for door-to-door delivery, and delivery to parcel lockers. For customers’ convenience, Freight Department No. 25 is also located on the premises—for shipments weighing more than 30 kg.
Currently, an average of 35,000 packages pass through the terminal each day, and the recent record stands at 80,000 shipments per day. The terminal handles all types of shipments—documents, packages, and oversized cargo—both those delivered within Moldova and international shipments.
In addition, the terminal has opened Nova Post’s first fulfillment hub in Moldova. It takes e-commerce in Moldova to a new level of speed: orders placed by customers before 1:00 a.m. are delivered throughout the country by the next morning. It is fitting that one of the fulfillment center’s first clients was a Ukrainian brand that has entered the Moldovan market and is using Nova Post’s services to scale its operations in international markets.
“Shipping volumes in Moldova have been steadily increasing, and consolidating all processes in one location has allowed us to meet this demand much more efficiently. As a result, we’ve reduced the average delivery time by 2 hours. The new terminal has sped up logistics: intercity routes are served twice a day, and deliveries to local branches are made every 2.5 hours. “We invested 800 thousand euros in the opening of the new terminal—and this is an investment in speed and reliability for each of our customers in Moldova,” said Serhii Shapran, CEO of Nova Post in Moldova.
The company plans to further develop its logistics infrastructure in Moldova, including the launch of a new sorting center in Bălți.
