Nova Post has opened Ukraine's first parcel locker space
Nova Post parcel locker space in the Great residential complex in the capital is in line with global trends in urban logistics and provides a convenient delivery service for residents of large modern neighbourhoods.
The new location combines 26 parcel lockers with 286 compartments and a total length of about 13 metres. This is currently the largest section of parcel lockers in one place in Ukraine. For comparison, Nova Post mega parcel locker No. 77777 in the capital's Seven residential complex has 18 stacks, 188 compartments and a length of 7 metres.
The Great residential complex in Kyiv is one of the largest residential complexes in the city with a ‘city within a city’ concept. Such large-scale developments are the optimal environment for the implementation of modern logistics solutions.
Similar ‘delivery room’ formats are actively developing around the world. In EU countries, developers are incorporating such solutions at the design stage as basic infrastructure. This is due to the increase in demand for e-commerce, the high density of urban life, and the growing need for residents to receive parcels quickly and contactlessly. Nova Post parcel locker space is in line with global trends and is an example of a new generation of delivery infrastructure.
"Since 2020, Nova Post has been systematically implementing the principle of maximum proximity to the customer and installing parcel lockers directly in the entrances of buildings. We call this format “slipper accessibility” because residents can receive parcels literally in their slippers and bathrobes, 24/7, quickly and without queues. Postal machines are becoming an integral part of residential infrastructure, just like lifts or car parks. Therefore, we have integrated a new format for Ukraine and plan to supplement the space with additional services, which we will discuss later," said Artur Kudelin, director of the postal machine department at Nova Post.
The parcel locker space is currently undergoing a trial period. If customer feedback is positive, Nova Post plans to scale similar micro-logistics zones to other cities in Ukraine.
