Nova Poshta received the “Rooster of Resilience” award as a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainian business
The “Pivnyk” Charitable Foundation presented Nova Poshta with a ceramic “Rooster of Resilience” as a token of gratitude for the company’s resilience and its contribution to supporting the country during the war.
Ceramic rooster figurines were crafted by the outstanding artisans of the Vasylkiv Majolica Factory in the 1960s and 1970s and were extremely popular at the time. Over the decades, they have been preserved in Ukrainian homes.
And half a century later, the Vasylkiv rooster has become more than just a part of our cultural heritage. After one of these pieces was found intact on a kitchen cabinet in a house in Borodianka that had been destroyed by the enemy, the rooster became a world-renowned symbol of the resilience and steadfastness of the Ukrainian people.
“Today, our collection includes over 2,000 unique ceramic roosters. But this is much more than just a collection. The rooster is the symbol of the charitable foundation of the same name, whose mission is to restore hearing to Ukrainian soldiers who have lost it as a result of acoustic trauma. Acoustic trauma is one of the most common yet invisible injuries of this war. The rooster helps us make it visible and draw attention to it,” said Ivan Hrynko, an ENT surgeon and founder of the “Pivnyk” Charitable Foundation.
On its own initiative, the foundation presents the “Roosters of Resilience” awards to leading Ukrainian companies that continue to operate and grow despite the challenges of the present.
“This symbol is special to us because it was Nova Poshta that delivered all these priceless ceramic pieces from across the country to the foundation. Now, the ‘Rooster of Resilience’ has become part of our own history and has taken its place of honor among the other special awards and honors in our office,” said Yevhen Tafiychuk, CEO of Nova Poshta.
Despite the daily challenges of the war, Nova Poshta continues to systematically expand its network, restore damaged facilities, and ensure uninterrupted delivery throughout Ukraine and abroad, remaining a reliable pillar of support for millions of Ukrainians.
