Nova Post in Moldova: 10 years of development and innovation in the Moldovan market

Today, Nova Post is marking an important occasion — the 10th anniversary of its operation in Moldova. The company achieved a major advance since entering this market in 2014, turning into one of the fastest and most reliable logistics companies in the country.
When it was launched in 2014, Nova Post in Moldova owned three service points only: in Chisinau, Cahul, and Balti. These served as both sorting depots and cargo branches. The company employed only 14 employees handling as few as 20 daily orders. At the same time, parcels were delivered by 2 couriers using public transportation.
In 10 years, Nova Post was ranked among the TOP-3 fastest deliveries in Moldova and built one of the most extensive logistics networks in the country, featuring 21 branches, 261 parcel lockers, and 3 sorting terminals. The company keeps introducing innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and promote local business development. Nova Post was the first company in the Moldovan market to launch a new type of service point — so-called pickup points operating within existing businesses: shops, gas stations, etc. 53 of these points are already proving popular, and Nova Post is planning a further expansion of this network.
Apart from the network, the volume of delivered parcels has also expanded. Thus, during the first semester of 2024, Nova Post in Moldova delivered 1.1 million parcels, which is almost equal to the volume delivered for the whole of 2023 (1.2 million). Moreover, for 6 months of 2024, the company paid 12.5 million lei in taxes to the Moldovan budget.
Nova Post in Moldova delivers parcels from Chinese, American, and Ukrainian marketplaces, as well as to and from Romania. The company is actively engaged in integration into the Nova Post Europe system, which will allow customers in Moldova to send and receive parcels from 13 European countries. This is going to be a crucial step in the development of international delivery, which is already enjoying significant growth. During the first semester of 2024, the company delivered 771 thousand international parcels, while last year this figure amounted to 590 thousand.
Serhii Shapran, CEO of Nova Post in Moldova, explains:
«In 2024, we intend to invest 880 thousand US dollars in the development of the company, which is 4.5 times more than last year. The major part of the funds will be allocated to expanding our network, repairing branches, automating workplaces, upgrading IT infrastructure, and increasing the fleet of vehicles for courier delivery. We aim at making delivery even easier and faster for our customers.»
